✅ Weight gain
✅ Low Energy
✅ Immunity issues
Just a few of the symptoms that come with my hypothyroidism. Needless to say, I can get obsessed with trying to figure out ways to improve and maybe even get off my medication some day.
2 key elements to look for in your nutrition:
The thyroid relies on Iodine and Selenium that together influence the function of the thyroid gland and also play an important role in energy levels.
You can find Iodine in different foods from the sea (like seaweed) and even some animal (eggs) and plant foods. Selenium can be found in Brazil nuts but the contents can vary depending on the soil it was taken from.
As soon as I read this article I ran to my shake ingredients and, sure enough, just one shake a day provides me with 52 µg of iodine and 36 µg of selenium. I’m happy to see that there’s no need for me to eat a bunch of seaweed, kelp or Brazil nuts to get the nutrition I need to support my thyroid!
